The OnPoint Performance Pathway is a complete 12-month strength and conditioning plan built for ambitious players aged 14-16 who want to get stronger, faster, and more powerful in a gym environment.

 

This is the next step for players serious about their rugby future.

Designed by professional rugby coaches, this step-by-step, gym-based programme focuses on mastering fundamental lifting technique, building lean muscle, and developing explosive power. It gives athletes the tools to dominate in contact, perform with confidence, and reduce injury risk.

 

Over the course of four progressive training phases, players will:

  • Master the Core Lifts: Learn and perfect the technique for fundamental gym movements like the Squat, Bench Press, and RDL.

  • Build Strength & Size: Follow a structured plan to progressively add strength and build the muscle mass (hypertrophy) needed for a physical sport.

  • Convert Strength to Power: Translate that new strength into explosive, on-field power with plyometrics and introductory Olympic lift variations.

  • Develop Total Resilience: Integrate all physical qualities to build a robust, powerful athlete ready for the demands of high-level competition.

 

This programme is the essential next step for players graduating from foundation training or those new to the gym. It provides the structure, knowledge, and progressions to train safely and effectively all year round.

 

Gym access is required. No prior gym experience is needed, as Phase 1 is dedicated to mastering technique. Just commitment and consistency.
